Dear Kathy:
At a meeting with you and Dr. Taylor just after Doug Becker announced his resignation, Dr. Taylor said that the KCMSD would undertake a national search for a replacement at Holliday School and that he would let the parents make the decision among the finalists. A number of parents have called me recently to express their concern that a national search does not seem to be underway yet, that Frank Vincent would not take any questions from parents on the issue at a recent parent conference night at the school, and that Frank told the parents to start considering Faxon and Holliday to be "one school".
This does not sound like Frank Vincent to me and I am sure he supports a national search for a principal at Holliday and continued encouragement of parental involvement at that school. One of the strengths of Holliday, and what makes it such a good school in the KCMSD, is the support and involvement of its parents. Please confirm that a national search is or soon will be underway for the new principal for Holliday School.
If you have any questions give me a call.
Yours very truly,
Arthur Benson
